Eden’s Table Volunteer Terms, Conditions & Liability Release
Last Updated: July 2026
By submitting a volunteer application on any Eden's Table form, you ("Volunteer," or if a minor, the Volunteer's parent/legal guardian) acknowledge and agree to the following terms. These terms apply to all volunteer activities, programs, and community projects hosted or supported by Eden's Table, including but not limited to general pantry operations, food drives (e.g., Thanksgiving Meal Delivery), meal deliveries, and local service projects (e.g., Love Your Neighbor).
1. Voluntary Service & No Employment
I acknowledge that my participation in any Eden's Table activity is completely voluntary. I am acting as an unpaid volunteer pursuant to the Florida Volunteer Protection Act (F.S. § 768.1355). I am not an employee, independent contractor, or agent of Eden's Table and am not entitled to monetary compensation, employee benefits, or Florida Worker's Compensation coverage.
2. Assumption of Risk
I understand that volunteering involves inherent risks, including physical labor, heavy lifting, operating tools or kitchen equipment, handling hot/cold food, driving or riding in vehicles, walking on uneven property/surfaces, outdoor exposure, and interacting with the public. I knowingly, freely, and voluntarily assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with my participation.
3. Express Waiver and Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under Florida law, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Eden's Table, its founder(s), property owners, board of directors, officers, staff, agents, partners, and representatives (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, or demands for personal injury, illness, death, or property damage arising out of or related to my volunteer service.
EVEN IF CAUSED BY THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES.
4. Property & Multi-Project Coverage
This release applies to activities occurring on Eden's Table physical property, on residential/commercial project sites, during off-site food drives, and during transit to/from any community service event (including Thanksgiving Meal Kit Delivery and Love Your Neighbor projects).
5. Accompanying Participants
Only individuals who have completed a volunteer registration for the applicable activity may participate in or accompany a volunteer during deliveries or other Eden's Table activities. If a Volunteer brings any additional person (adult or minor) along during a delivery or service activity, the Volunteer is responsible for ensuring that person has completed the appropriate registration in advance, including the minor consent process in Section 9 if that person is under 18. The Volunteer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claim, injury, or damage arising from an unregistered person's participation that the Volunteer brought or allowed to accompany them.
6. Personal Vehicle Use (Delivery Roles)
Volunteers who deliver food or meal kits do so using their own personal vehicle. Eden's Table does not provide vehicles, fuel, or auto insurance coverage for volunteers. Each delivery volunteer confirms they hold a valid driver's license and current auto insurance, and is solely responsible for operating their vehicle safely and in compliance with applicable law.
7. Code of Conduct
Volunteers agree to treat clients, fellow volunteers, staff, and the public with respect and dignity; to follow the reasonable instructions of Eden's Table staff or team leads on-site; to refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior; and to promptly report any safety concern, incident, or injury to an Eden's Table staff member. Eden's Table reserves the right to remove any volunteer who violates this Code of Conduct.
8. Emergency Medical Authorization & Governing Law
In the event of an injury or illness while volunteering, I authorize Eden's Table representatives to secure emergency medical care on my behalf. I accept full financial responsibility for any medical expenses incurred. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida.
9. Minor Volunteering
a. Ages 14–17: A minor age 14 through 17 may volunteer only with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, provided below.
b. Age 13 and under: A minor age 13 or under may volunteer only if a parent or legal guardian is physically present for the entire duration of the activity. Volunteers 13 and under may not serve as the driver in any delivery role and may only ride along under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian who is also a registered adult volunteer.
c. Required parental/guardian statement. As required by Florida law for waivers signed on behalf of a minor child (F.S. § 744.301(3)), the following notice applies and the parent/guardian consent below must be completed for any volunteer under 18:
READ THIS FORM COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. YOU ARE AGREEING TO LET YOUR MINOR CHILD ENGAGE IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITY. YOU ARE AGREEING IN ADVANCE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUE EDEN'S TABLE, OR ANY OF ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS FOR MONEY DAMAGES IN FLORIDA EVEN IF THEY ARE PARTIALLY AT FAULT FOR AN INJURY TO YOUR CHILD, INCLUDING AN INJURY THAT RESULTS IN THE DEATH OF YOUR CHILD.
Parent/Guardian Consent: I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor volunteer named on this form. I have read this entire document, understand it, and consent to my child's participation in the Eden's Table volunteer activity indicated. I understand that this consent covers the inherent risks of the activity as described above. (Type full legal name to sign electronically)
10. Photo & Media Release
I grant Eden's Table permission to photograph, record, and use my (or, if a minor, my child's) image, voice, and likeness in promotional, website, and social media materials without compensation. To opt out, written notice must be submitted prior to volunteering.
11. Privacy of Volunteer Information
Information collected on volunteer forms (name, contact information, parent/guardian information) is used only for volunteer coordination, scheduling, and safety purposes, and will not be sold or shared with outside parties except as needed to respond to a safety or medical emergency.
